Korenix extends range of Gigabit Stackable Layer3 Rackmount Managed Switches

22 February 2010
Korenix has extended its range of Gigabit Stackable Layer3 Rackmount Managed Switches by releasing the new dual 24V and 48V DC power-based JetNet 6524G-DC series with -40~65oC wide operating temperature and an exclusive Fan-Less design to ensure reliable backbone network constructions in severe industrial environments.

Equipped with huge network capacity of 24 full gigabit ports plus 4 Gigabit SFP combo ports the layer 3 switch allows to easily manage routing between different network segments while delivering maximum throughput and flexibility for high-density and ultra high-speed connection.

With its 8 unit stacking ability, secured stack cable and dual 10G stack backplane, the JetNet 6524G-DC series provide up to 192 Gigabit ports per stack and 384G bandwidth for building intelligent large-scale transportation networks. The easy stacking design greatly reduces administrators’ workload through the simple management of the whole stack as a single switch, provides easy precedence configuration of each stack member, all these with no any topology recovery problem.

The JetNet 6524G-DC series, along with the new enhanced AC power based JetNet 6524G series support MSR single member mode and therefore, with on-board Gigabit SFP combo ports, fit in flexible distance network applications and operate as backbone switches to form gigabit MSR redundant ring networks. As a result, the switches expand network system through gigabit fiber / copper rings, becoming excellent easy-to-use and high performance solutions for reliable, industrial-grade backbone network constructions.

All new JetNet 6524G series outstand from other similar switches by incorporating the LLDP function and working effectively with JetView Pro Korenix Network management software to allow users automatically visualize network topology and efficiently manage network groups in different segments. More advanced management protocols such as DHCP option 82, QoS with 7 queues, LACP with 6 Trunk Groups, up to 9K Jumbo Frame, IGMP Snooping, SNMP etc. are available for industrial Ethernet applications.

Another distinctive feature of JetNet 6524G-DC series, is though their complete Layer3 functionalities; users can benefit from these L3 features by easily configuring multiple IP subnets through a single port or the VLAN interface, and then routing these subnets using IP, VLAN and Multicast Routing protocols. Furthermore, featuring the L3 ACL, users can ensure advanced security of the networks by applying it to multiple subnets in different network groups.

Taking full advantage of all these new features of Korenix L3 switches, users can form redundant gigabit ring networks while automatically visualizing devices, remotely monitoring and efficiently managing different segments from a control center, which proofs that the switches are excellent industrial-grade backbone solutions for applications in collision avoidance, automatic road enforcement, vehicle notification and other traffic control systems.
