Reliance Managed Access provides access control system without having to invest in servers, software or technical expertise

16 July 2010
Reliance High-Tech has launched a fully hosted and remotely managed access control service. Reliance Managed Access provides customers with all of the features and benefits of a high quality access control system without the requirement to invest in servers, software or technical expertise.

Proven to be substantially more cost effective than paying for an access control solution up front and running it in-house, Reliance Managed Access Control can be used to secure just one building or multiple sites. Taking access control as a service eliminates the need for customers to invest in dedicated IT infrastructure and software upgrades, trained staff to manage the user database, access control software licences or photo badge printers, while offering all the increased security and flexibility associated with an electronic access control solution without the up front capital investment.

Organisations can make significant savings by moving legacy access systems over to Reliance Managed Access while others could realise a clear return on investment as a replacement for manned guarding or key-holding services.

Dan Thomas, Sales & Marketing Director, said, “The launch of this innovative service from Reliance High-Tech recognises the changes that are taking place in the way electronic security is being purchased and delivered. Today, many organisations already outsource business functions such as payroll or IT support while they focus on their core business. In the same way, taking electronic access control as a hosted and managed service from Reliance High-Tech, will allow customers to take advantage of the most advanced technology and industry-leading support for an affordable quarterly charge.”

Reliance Managed Access Control is powered by technology partner Honeywell and is hosted at the dedicated Reliance Monitoring Centre accredited to BS5979 CAT II standards and working in accordance with IS027000 for the protection of data. The service is available using a range of readers and control panels installed by highly-qualified Reliance High-Tech engineers including the set up of account parameters, panel programming and card additions.

On-going system administration including door open/close requests, events and alarms are handled by Reliance monitoring specialists who, if required, are authorised to contact emergency services. Reporting is scheduled and customised to meet customers’ demands with hourly, daily, weekly or monthly reports sent via email.

Reliance Managed Access also offers customers the flexibility to add or delete cards remotely through a secure web portal and can use any web-enabled device to view who is accessing their facility and what areas they have visited.
